Fennec on eeepc: Test Drive

Assuming that Fennec is an ALFA I will not have problems in its operation, but I will describe the user interface, detailing how this new browser is usable on small screens such as dell'eeepc.

As of now you see that everything is new, first of all there are no sidebars for scrolling, the page opens and he sees only a piece! To move and to see the rest of the page, you must hold the left mouse button and move the mouse pad, giving the impression of having a vocation very touch-friendly! In short, they applied those principles that have made navigation on the iPhone only! By double-clicking on an area to zoom the text you ... Another double click and come back! You can zoom in on pages, and there 'also a "draft" effect when you move down the page.

The entire interface is designed to maximize the viewing area of the page and the tabs are "hidden", as well as all the menus that need to be viewing the page, drag the left or right and will appear as columns with various menuù or the various tabs, which are represented by small thumbnail preview of the page.

For the record I note that this version is just an alpha : D with all the ensuing problems: blockages, delays and lack of some features, such as widgets. The only thing I care about now are slow, because I've only noticed sull'eeepc and not the "main" PC, like a lack of power rather than a code problem. If this was true it would make little use of this browser "enjoyable" even if it is designed for mobile devices, where the processors are notoriously underpowered ... We will see in future releases.

A little 'picture of how it looks on a eeepc:

And to you who did impressions?

Well, if you do not have a tracking system, be it a mouse, a touchpad or just the touch screen would say it is unusable ...
Maybe make the macro keys that allow the full use of its functionality.
We'll see when the product becomes more mature!
