I wanted to share my latest purchase: a micro economic slide!
Everything comes from buying the Tamron 90mm F2.8 Macro, which is giving me so much satisfaction and that of course starts to collide with me all the problems of macro photography.
As you know for maximum magnification should be the minimum possible distance from the subject that you want to photograph and to focus must move the camera, now if you have a ball head like mine: a Manfrotto 496RC2, you get to move around The tripod, which will agree with me is a bit 'annoying!
After the whole rigamarole is that I present here is the new entry:
Jack on ebay from the usual Chinese dealer for less than 30 euros!
The box and its content is very basic: white box with the image printed on the slide, just slide into a plastic bag, no paper, manual or otherwise.
The slider allows 2 movements: forward and backward, and those of the side, right and left.
Are also present of the blocks in order to avoid that once framed the subject can be accidentally moved.
The construction is pretty solid, very solid with very fluid movements of the knobs.
I have tested, by fitting the slide to the ball head and screwing on the camera the whole thing is really stable, I tried to slide in both directions and even the camera magnification X10 there were no tremors, strange movements or misalignments .
Pro:
Very stable
No games or strange movements
And precise movements
Cons:
Increase the minimum height.
In fact you can reduce by eliminating a sleigh, but by doing so you lose one of the two movements.
Features:
Movements length: 50mm in all directions
Length slides: 150mm
Weight: 700g
Height: 7cm approx
Material: steel and aluminum
Color: Black
If you do not trust the Chinese on ebay I found a German site that sells, but at a price far higher.
www.enjoyyourcamera.com
But I can not tell you anything about its reliability!
