Asus EeePC: How to rotate the screen

Often with a touch of envy, I confess, I look at those with a PC with Windows starts doing things that Linux often can not be done because the hardware is not always properly supported. Sure, the network has always been a hand, but sometimes it bothers :)
I read www.eeepc.it an easy way to rotate the screen on a EeePC with Windows operating system. In short, through the usual drivers etc etc..

Unetbootin: How to install an "any" distribution of Linux Eeepc

Also in the endless quest for final distribution to install on my eeepc 701 I was trying to figure out if the steps I did to install mandriva 2008 and 2009 could also be applied to other distributions. have a key at startup, starts the distribution and then download the packages from the network is much more convenient than downloading the iso, create a key that contains and is "bootable" to do the install on those PCs that are not equipped with a CD and find that, of course, the idea has already been developed and expanded!

NEWS: Mandriva 2009 is out!

Mandriva 2009!

Mandriva 2009!

It 's official, was released the latest version of Mandriva distribution.
This version promises better compatibility with netbooks, and since the 2008 version was already fully compatible with the eeepc ... I'm curious to know precisely what are the improvements!
From the site reads:
New and Updated Software
Faster boot in
compatible with netbook
Improved the Mandriva tools

I believe that the transition is required

For holders of eeepc, I recommend not to upgrade, it is best to first figure out if there's a full hardware compatibility, or you risk having to recompile anything!

Soon I will write a simple tutorial on how to upgrade my impressions.

More Vitamin all'eeepc! The overclocked and underclocked!

The title seems written by a person with dual personality!
But as more vitamin and overclocking, and that's fine, but then you talk about underclocked?
Yes, although it seems a contradiction in fact make sense either.
The eeepc is on average well to do everything we need, but sometimes it seems slow, it lacks that touch of panache that could solve some unforeseen situation ... we talk on Skype while you surf, while referring to a document ... well poor CPU may not be reactive, and then switch to a higher clock can help.
Or are they on the plane, and I want to enjoy a good movie, and here the power is not needed, rather it is also too much but you know the battery is never enough, and then lowering the clock is going to save some power.
At this point the question arises: how?

Eeepc 701 and Mandriva - Installation

Mandriva 2008.1

In a previous post I told of my wanderings from various Linux distributions, one for all the eeeXubuntu, to use Mandriva on my EeePC.
In this post however, I will explain step by step how you can install the latest version of Mandriva.

Requirements:
1 701 eeepc
1 PC with Linux already installed
1 stick or a 512MB sd schda
1 ADSL
The installation that I followed is via FTP, in practice it creates a memory stick / SD with the minimum for starting and answering simple questions (which would also installing from a CD) starts downloading packages via ftp and then the next Installation.
