Asus EeePC: How to rotate the screen

Often with a touch of envy, I confess, I look at those with a PC with Windows starts doing things that Linux often can not be done because the hardware is not always properly supported. Sure, the network has always been a hand, but sometimes it bothers :)
I read www.eeepc.it an easy way to rotate the screen on a EeePC with Windows operating system. In short, through the usual drivers etc etc..

VI: An editor, or rather the editor!

In the beginning, and there was.
Ed is the standard text editor.
Then there was you, and it was good.
Then Came emacs, and a dearth of RAM.
Your mission is to cross core
memory and rid the host of emacs.
It will not be an easy mission, as

PyTrainer: The Free Sport Training Center

As I wrote in this post the only way to analyze data collected from the GH-615M GPS was to use some programs that run under Windows, including the best known is SportTracks.
Instead I find that Linux is a program that allows you to analyze the logs and can be used by athletes to measure their performance: PyTrainer .

Linux Kernel: over 10,000,000 rows!

I read from this site that the kernel version 2.6.27 has reached ten million lines, a number to think about it very impressive for a free software developed by a community of people around the world. Even cleaning up by blank lines and comments, the number of lines of code "Real" is still more than six million. Almost all of the code is written in ANSI / C.

Vintage Browser: Lynx, Links and w3m

Prior to IE8, Firefox 3 and all other browsers that peek on our computers, we were sailing well with other tools and systems with much more primitive! Very simple browser, showing just the text with little formatting option ...

How to form your own distro LIVE

Each distribution has a version of "live" to allow for verification, test and study how it works and if it is the distro that does for us.
But once you find our distribution, once we have the custom programs that interest us and freed of unnecessary programs that we believe would be a great thing to be able to re-turn it into a "distro" live.
Obviously there is already someone on the internet who has designed and created a series of scripts to transform our installation in a live distro, the site we are talking about is www.linux-live.org

Unetbootin: How to install an "any" distribution of Linux Eeepc

Also in the endless quest for final distribution to install on my eeepc 701 I was trying to figure out if the steps I did to install mandriva 2008 and 2009 could also be applied to other distributions. have a key at startup, starts the distribution and then download the packages from the network is much more convenient than downloading the iso, create a key that contains and is "bootable" to do the install on those PCs that are not equipped with a CD and find that, of course, the idea has already been developed and expanded!
