I read about Pingdom , which was built in Sweden the world's most secure data centers, built in a bomb shelter to 30 meters below the city of Stockholm and fully excavated in the granite.
Originally it was a nuclear-proof bunker: The data center is housed in a former anti atomic shelter built military during the Cold War. The code name of the structure at the time of the military was "Pionen White Mountains"
Features:
Located 30 meters below the center of Stockholm - the structure of 1110 square meters, is cut into the granite below the Swedish capital.
Redesigned in 2007-2008 - Pionen was completely redesigned to accommodate the data center, others have been excavated 4000 cubic meters of rock to accommodate more rooms.
A hydrogen bomb test - the bunker designed to withstand a bomb attack at the hydrogen.
A host of major ISPs in Sweden
Emergency generator of a German submarine - Ben Maybach MTU diesel engines two will generate 1.5 megawatts of power. The engines were originally designed for German submarines and "fun" engineers have also installed the warning system (sirens) submarines.
Cooling system from 1.5 MW - The Baltimore Aircoil is able to generate a cooling effect of 1.5 megawatts, enough for hundreds of rack units.
Triple redundancy Internet backbone access - The network is fully redundant fiber optic cables and extras with three different access routes into the bunker. Pionen is one of the best connected data centers in Northern Europe.
Work environment with simulated sunlight, houseplants and a 2600-liter aquarium.
Staff of about 15 people - all Senior and work full time within the structure.
